Perennial /pəˈrɛnɪəl/ : 1. Lasting or existing for a long or apparently infinite time; enduring or continually recurring. 2. Lasting a long time, or happening repeatedly or all the time. 3. everlasting; perpetual.

Peren is a brand which does not have a beginning, nor an end, for it was not invented, nor was it conceived.

It was introduced to a conventional timescale by Transylvanian descendant, Andy Bica, with the purpose to produce perennial products, conceived to promote the perennial philosophy.

In his watchmaking endeavor, Andy was inspired by the ancient Transylvanian calendar from Sarmizegetusa Regia. Known as the most accurate calendar of its time and the pillar of modern timekeeping, the ancient construction represents the core of every perennial process and the essence of the brand.

Having inherited the passion for mechanical timepieces from his father, Andy had an unprecedented opportunity to disassemble his first mechanical wristwatch at the age of ten using only his father's surgical instruments.

After a series of internships in the Swiss watchmaking Industry, the young watch enthusiast succeeded to assemble his first complete watch. Subsequently, the brand's ethereal existence, developed into a perceptible manifestation when it was registered as a trademark in 2014.

Presently, every perennial watch is in-house hand built in Switzerland by certified watchmakers using only first class materials. After the assembly process is concluded the watches are thoroughly tested in order to fit the rigorous Swiss quality standards.

This quote guided Mr. Eugen Hintz to create watches in the 20’s in his boutique in Transylvania after returning from the United States.

One of the most respected Transylvanian watchmaker, having partnerships with famous brands such as Tellus, Wyler and Junghans, he would commission spare parts to create watches in his workshop in Fagaras, non other then the birthplace of Peren as a brand.

The pocket Watch ‘Wyler Eugen Hintz | Fagaras’ was produced in the interwar period by the Swiss watch manufacturer Wyler SA in Biel/Bienne, the same place where Peren is currently located.

This allegory is an oversimplification of the fact that time in its essence is a human invention and what we create now is always intertwine with the past and the future.

Materialism has a negative connotation in modern global society but it can also be perceived as positive and constructive. Material objects, silent as they are, can be sources of important psychological messages. They can remind us of our better selves and by doing so they are making important contributions to our lives.

In Ancient Egypt there was a temple in which therapy was a result of the contemplation of geometrical objects. To look upon them was therapeutic because the individual contemplating is seeing the harmony behind it and that imagery is sent into the consciousness in the form of a benevolent magnetic energy.

The material objects that really speak to us need time and space to get their message across.
Wherever we see perfection it enriches our experience of life and here at Peren watches we are striving to create perennial objects to bring a certain harmony to our shared global consciousness.
